Liaison Program
May 2009) Kisserup International Trade Roots Inc. has been awarded an 11-month contract for the Nova Scotia-Caribbean Liaison Program supported by Atlantic Canada Opportunities Agency (ACOA), Nova Scotia Business Inc. (NSBI), and the Nova Scotia Departments of Agriculture, Energy and Environment. The program will promote and facilitate trade development between Nova Scotia and the Caribbean region. Through this program, Kisserup will provide on-going consulting support and assistance to Nova Scotia companies in the agriculture, education and training, energy, environment and professional services sectors that are interested in maintaining or growing business in the Caribbean. Kisserup has partnered with companies in the Caribbean to deliver the program and will work closely with the Canadian Trade Commissionaires in the region. (May 2009) Kisserup welcomes Ms. Jenny Slaunwhite as the newest member of our team. Ms. Slaunwhite is working as our International Trade Assistant for the summer and will return to Saint Mary’s University to complete her Global Business Management degree in the fall. Jenny has experience living and working abroad and hopes to gain more insight into the world of international trade through her work term at Kisserup.
Kisserup approved for EU SME Week

(April 2009) Kisserup International Trade Roots Inc. has been approved to provide a workshop during the first European SME Week in Copenhagen, Denmark. The workshop will be launched by the Ambassador of Canada to Denmark, the .H.E. Mr. Peter Lundy. The aim of EU SME Week is to promote entrepreneurship across Europe while informing entrepreneurs of the support available to them at the European, national and local levels. It also provides new and seasoned SMEs with an array of information, advice, support and ideas to assist in the development of their business activities while also inspiring potential entrepreneurs yet to ‘take the plunge’ towards achieving their goals. ACOA Export Mentoring Program

The very successful ACOA Export Mentoring Program is offered again this year, offering export mentoring assistance to SMEs. Kisserup has qualified again as an export mentor and looks very much forward to be working with ACOA, the World Trade Centre and MAI again on this initiative. Centre for Women in Business continues to ADVANCE

The Centre for Women in Business is once again offering the ADVANCE program to women business owners throughout Atlantic Canada. Kisserup and AFETT sign MOU

May 2009) Kisserup International Trade Roots Inc. signed an MOU with the Association of female Executives of Trinidad and Tobago (AFETT). The MOU will facilitate collaboration between the two organizations to develop trade and trade mission training, workshop development and the development of a framework in connection with the Caribbean Women’s Leadership Summit to take place in 2010.
