This project was part of an export development initiative of the Government of Canada along with the four Atlantic Provinces (New Brunswick, Newfoundland and Labrador, Nova Scotia, and Prince Edward Islands) to assist Atlantic Canadian SMEs in developing new export markets. The objective of the initiative was to provide e-commerce market information for 16 international markets with the aim of increasing export via e-commerce. The markets included: Belgium, China, France, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Netherlands, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States, and Vietnam.
The scope of Kisserup's work included extensive primary and secondary research of each of the target markets along with the development of a Country Factsheet for each market that summarizes the findings and outlines current e-commerce trends.

In 2022, the Nova Scotia Association of Community Business Development Corporations (NSACBDC) reached out to Kisserup to update the fact sheets previously developed with current data.
