Lara Burkart / Business Consultant

Lara Burkart joins Kisserup during her internship as an Undergraduate in her final year of the International Food Business Program at Aeres University of Applied Science in the Netherlands and Dalhousie University in Canada, specializing in Export Management and Supply Chain Management.

A true citizen of the world, Lara is a triple citizen who has lived in Canada, Germany and the USA, grew up in South Africa and also lived in the Netherlands during her studies. She is fluent in both German and English, with added proficiency in Dutch.

In Germany Lara worked with a young company in the food sector developing sales and export strategies for newly innovative food products as well as successfully established relationships with over 250 retail customers and assisted with an the export mission to Austria and the Netherlands. Furthermore, Lara has gained food sector experience in the United States, where she assisted with diverse tasks in sales, accounting and was able to successfully attend at two major trading shows in NYC and in Atlanta.

While completing her internship with Kisserup, Lara is concurrently writing her thesis on Food Waste in the Service Sector in Nova Scotia. After graduating in the summer of 2019 with a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Agriculture. Lara will be pursuing her Master’s degree in international business at Queen’s University in Canada and at the Maastricht University in the Netherlands, graduating in Winter 2020.
