Maria Calcano / Vice President

Maria Calcano is an international trade professional with vast experience in the Latin American market, as well as within Canadian industry. She has advised clients in all matters related to international trade including: cross border supply of goods and services, international offset agreements, foreign investment, re-location and movement of natural persons, foreign labour and professional requirements.
Prior to joining Kisserup International Trade Roots, Maria worked at one of Canada’s leading defence companies; first as a Contract and Project Advisor for a major international project and subsequently as the Industrial and Regional Benefits (IRB) Manager where she gained in-depth knowledge of the Canadian industry and built strong industry networks, in particular, with SMEs.
Maria is a foreign-trained lawyer who has represented clients in international bilingual contract negotiations, government procurement processes, litigation and alternative dispute resolution. She is fluent in Spanish, English, and French and holds a Master of Electronic Commerce from Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
