The project “Strengthening Business Linkages in the Caribbean” seek to enhance the value chain of consumable products in major retailers and tourism spots (hotels, resorts, restaurants) in the CARIFORUM region. This consultancy evaluated the viability of creating a Business to Business (B2B) portal to support commercial linkages in the Caribbean Region. The online platform objective would be to facilitate matchmaking and B2B interactions between potential buyers, distributors and strategic partners such as regional logistics providers.
Kisserup researched the technical requirements and content that will feed the potential B2B portal. The desk research included a detailed analysis to a comprehensive number of B2B portals that are managed by export promotion agencies around the world. Best practices, trends and outcomes from each portal were identified and presented to the client. The desk research was complemented by a stakeholder consultation. Kisserup identified over 500 businesses in the Caribbean region that could participated in the B2B portal. A survey was launched along a interviews to gather quantitative and qualitative data from those stakeholders. Findings were summarize and presented to the client.
