Kisserup International Trade Roots Inc. successfully designed and executed a capacity-building program for Business Support Organizations (BSOs) in Jamaica, as part of the Development Bank of Jamaica's Boosting Innovation, Growth, and Entrepreneurship Ecosystems (BIGEE) Programme. The project focused on enhancing BSO capabilities through sensitization and training workshops aligned with international best practices in Business Development Management and local needs, targeting 60 plus BSOs in Jamaica.
The project encompassed various activities, including identifying international best practices in Business Development Management, conducting needs assessments, developing training modules, facilitating in-person and online workshops, in-market consultations, participant follow-up, and generating a comprehensive final report. The curriculum emphasized BSO roles, covering areas such as business consulting, artificial intelligence (AI) tools, digitalization, sector branding, and resource mobilization. The training materials was built around accessibility of QR code content, tested for both mobile and desktop compatibility to enhance access and interaction. A needs assessment informed the content, addressing specific areas like diagnostic tools, advisory services, business plan development, AI, and digitalization. Notably, the curriculum incorporated gender equality and social inclusion best practices.
